Dauphin County Parks & Recreation is committed to maintaining clean, safe, and beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy. To ensure a positive experience for all visitors, we ask that you follow these park rules and guidelines during your visit.
General Rules
- Carry-In, Carry-Out Policy: Help us keep our parks pristine by taking all trash and belongings with you when you leave.
- Respect Boundaries: Please stay within designated park areas and do not trespass on adjacent private property.
- Pets: Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times. Owners are responsible for bagging and removing all pet waste.
- Trail Use: Use only marked trails for hiking and walking, and be mindful of wildlife and other visitors.
Prohibited Activities
To protect our natural and cultural resources, the following activities are not allowed in any Dauphin County Parks:
- Hunting or trapping wildlife
- Camping or building campfires
- Removing or damaging plants and animals
- Alcohol & drug use
- Operating motorized vehicles on trails or grass areas
Facilities & Accessibility
- Parks are open daily from dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted.
- Restroom facilities, such as portajohns, are available at key locations, including the top of the trailhead at Detweiler Park.
- Certain parks feature family-friendly attractions offering fun and educational activities for all ages.
