Join us for a relaxing morning in nature while we celebrate the Grand Opening of a self-guided Forest Bathing Walk at Detweiler Park!
Justin Ferko of Wild Spirit Paths will lead a guided sensory meditation walk along this new, self-guided trail. This walk is designed for families with children. The guided walk will be directed towards children, teaching them to use their senses as they walk in nature to discover more about what is around them. Certain prompts along the trail will change with the seasons. Tea and light refreshments will be available after the walk. Pre-registration required. Space is limited. Please register only the number and ages of children attending this walk.
Originating in Japan, forest bathing or shinrin yoku, is a mindfulness meditation that invites you to slow down and connect with the natural world through your senses.
Funding for this project was made possible through the Penn State Health Community Relations Grant Program.
